Panda Diplomacy: Mayor’s Trip to China

GlobalSF was honored to be a co-organizer of Mayor Breed’s first official delegation to China this past April. In addition to Beijing and Shanghai, official meetings took place in Guangzhou, the capitol to the ancestral province of many San Francisco residents, as well as a visit to the home of Bruce Lee’s father!
Stay tuned for future opportunities and activities related to China and even with the province of Guangdong.

GlobalSF Women Launch Event 2021
The inaugural GlobalSF Women Launch event brought together female founders, funders, and allies for an evening of insight, connections, partnership building, and delicious food and beverages. The virtual and in-person “Ask Me Anything”-style panel discussion as leading women investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers explore questions surrounding the critical topic of funding and growth. This impactful conversation was followed by a reception with experts and service provider “pop-ups” designed to maximize learning, resource sharing, and networking.
California & Mexico: A Showcase of Innovation, Economic Opportunity and Friendship
GlobalSF and the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco highlighted the ever-growing relationship and opportunities between Mexico and San Francisco. They gathered at The Green Room in San Francisco, on Thursday, October 7.
This festive and informative event featured a taste of Mexico as well as remarks from special guests with the arrival of the Mexican Economic Development Delegation from the states of Jalisco, Puebla, and the state of Mexico, followed by a special recognition ceremony for the first Mexican Ballet Dancer to become a Principal Dancer at the San Francisco Ballet, Esteban Hernandez.
GlobalSF - Connecting the Dots on EV and Sustainability
San Francisco has a long history of immigration, trade, and investment with Guangdong Province and the City of Guangzhou. Both Guangzhou and San Francisco are port cities and centers of trade in the heart of regions with a strong emphasis on innovation and emerging technologies. This is particularly the case for the next generation of electric vehicles (EVs).
The San Francisco Bay Area has long been on the cutting edge of automotive technology – Tesla was created here, and Ford, General Motors, Honda, Mercedes-Benz and Nissan-Renault all have research facilities in this region. Apple, Google, and Waymo are all working on driverless auto technology, and Uber and Lyft were both created and headquartered in this region – many in the city of San Francisco.
